I lent the editor of a "good news" newspaper, David Christian
Hamblin, a bridge loan for his business in the amount of $10,000.

He was a friend of my secretary's. Hamblin had been featured in The New York Times and was on the Donahue show. He signed a notarized contract agreeing to a payment schedule.

Not only did he not repay one penny of the loan, but without my
permission, he used my name as a cosigner on a car loan. He then defaulted on the payments. Because he had falsified the paperwork, it took the bank some time to find him and repossess the car. They then held me accountable for $7,000, the amount owed after they sold the vehicle. It was either pay or lose my credit rating.

I cannot understand why the Santa Fe District Attorney and
Nations Bank, which is in Texas, have done nothing to bring this man to justice, but they have not. I am tied to New York City because of my work and he has ignored letters from my attorney.

I would like to recover the $17,000 I am owed.

The comments made about my situation have not been made in a truthful way. It is true that a bridge loan was made while I was with a corporation as the President. The Corporation went bankrupt. I never made false statements on any car loan agreement as stated. I am sorry for this misrepresentation.
