Complaint Review: South Eagle Flooring

South Eagle Flooring Alexander Pacahana Tatiana Bertoluci Code violations, a wall that is still out of plumb, jagged and uneven tile cuts and 1/2” grout lines in areas. The shower pan was never tested and I can’t tell if it holds water. At a minimum 2 walls need to be torn out and more than likely the entire job needs to be redone. Westminster CO

If I could leave negative stars I would. Alexander started on a 3-day project and I eventually kicked him out after 7 weeks. I can’t begin to describe how hellish it has been. It started by subbing the work out to an unqualified subcontractor, Edgar and his son AJ. There was no dust mitigation and my entire house was covered in tile dust.

Edgar also tiled the shower without spacers, wasn’t proficient cutting glass tile, leaving sharp, uneven cuts and he didn’t level the walls. The end project looked like a dumpster fire. Alexander, then offers to help retile the shower walls only and unfortunately his quality of work is only marginally better than Edgar’s.

He levels 1 wall in the shower, but not the other, which is still out of plumb by about an inch and a half. His shampoo niche is not to code and I’ve been told risks freezing in the winter. It can’t be placed on an exterior wall without insulation which he did.

There are still jagged tile cuts, just less of them. Grout lines are 1/2 in and uneven in many areas. All of my extra glass tiles, that I paid for, are no longer in my garage. At one point there was different color grout on the shower floor and there is still missing grout in many areas.

I've filed a complaint with the CO Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.  South Eagle Flooring is not registered with DORA, but is an LLC belonging to Tatiana Bertoluci. Alexander has taken the position that I didn’t let him finish the project, which unfortunately, isn't accurate.  It was supposed to be a 3-day job that went on and was never completed after 7 weeks

It's unclear if the shower pan holds water as it was never tested. At a minimum, 2 weeks need to be retiled with the niches moved away from an exterior wall and a wall squares that never was.  If the shower pan doesn't hold water, the entire project has to be redone.

I've asked for money back from Alexander and unfortunately will be forced to ask for it in Small Claims Court next. Please think twice before engaging with this business.
