Sinatra Health Report is dishonest. Last year my stepfather died. He had been getting a lot of "junk" mail and I wrote "deceased, return to sender" on much of it, until the US post office got confused and stopped all mail for everyone at this address (that is another story!). The Sinatra Health Report was one of those things I returned.

However, later, in going through his bank statements, I saw that he had paid almost $80 for 2 years of the report just a month before he died. I called them up to get a refund for unused portion of the subscription.

The first time I called, I was told that because it had been returned marked "deceased" the company did not give refunds! I did not pursue it that day, but called again and was told that a refund would be issued. Since we had closed his bank account, I told them they would have to send us a check. Did not hear from them. Called a third time and was told that a refund had been issued to his bank card (which had been cancelled by that time) and that the bank should call Sinatra Report!

Needless to say, we have never received a penny of this money and it has been almost a year since I first contacted them.

Sadly, older people, like my late stepfather, are often the victims of unscrupulous companies and unfair business practices. He had also been the victim of American Family Publishers (he bought something from them 11 times in one year!-mostly after being contacted by them on the phone or having been sent something unsolicited and then hounded for payment). FYI, anything you receive in the mail which you did not request is a free gift! Don't pay for what you did not order!!!

Both he and my mother were on numerous junk mailing lists which have proved very hard to stop. I even suspect one of the junk mailers sold her name to a "get rich quick" list as she now receives tons of mail for those types of things. Dealing with the aftermath of my stepfather's death has been quite an eye opener. Thanks for letting me get all that off my chest!
