I am super frustrated with all this taking so long (24+) days to resolve and every time they fix something they make something else worse. Kris lacks professional communication and needs to be treated like a child.  This disrespect is how he treats his customers...coming late and making excuses?  He thinks he has such a perfect track record?  I'm supposed to be happy with this type of service and not upset about all the damage and sloppy work and this reflects on me being ungrateful? I'm impossible to please?  Kris says that none of this work described are things that he was "hired for and was paid for" but that doesn't matter....he accepted the work and executed the work on behalf of himself and his business (there was no gun to his head) so that entitles him to do shitty work and disrespect the customer?  No, he needs to step up and act like a man and a reputable businessman and stand behind all that he stated above in the underlined text.  Instead of making the correct assessment in the beginning, he assumed it was the roof and rim joists and never did a thorough investigation.  As far as him making sure every customer is satisfied and not having a single negative thing against him...why is he having problems with me and the (2) other customers who owe him outstanding money?  By my math, that's at least (3)!!!

I had Kris to my home on 1/31/22 to discuss installing spray foam "in the walls" as the attic was already insulated with fiberglass.  He insisted my whole house heating/cooling issue was because the attic fiberglass wasn't going the job and he GUARANTEED verbally that spray foaming the attic and the rim joists in the basement would fix every problem I had and I wouldn't need the walls done.  He stated if I continued to have issues he would do them for FREE because he knew I wouldn't have any problems.  He also stated that he would move my items in attic to one side, spray foam, then move to the other side, spray foam so there was no need to move the items out.

On 2/7/22 (Monday) I had to reach out to him about scheduling since I hadn't heard anything and he stated by the end of the week (which never happened).  He had a death in the family so I told him we could wait but he said that wasn't necessary but yet the funeral wasn't until 2/13/22 so there was a great lag that "wasn't necessary" for him. Then I hear nothing.

On 2/13/22 he texts me that they will start TOMORROW!!!  No advanced notice to move anything around (and it wasn't necessary since his workers were moving things side to side). He first says he is going to meet me at the house with Becca and Matty to give them a walkthrough, then the story changes to, he will meet me here later this afternoon, then the story changes to he's not going to come at all.  He is busy getting his daughter from school and his sister Becca is way late not getting to my house until after 3pm with excuses as to why she's not there at 12:00 pm like was arranged.  This is a repeated theme of Kris who makes a commitment and then never delivers. All Kris' workers move all my stuff from the attic to the basement and other areas of the house which was not the agreement.  The workers broke things in the attic and the basement (clothing hangers and a ceramic pumpkin and got spray foam all over my ceramic heater).

2/18/22 was the last day of work as they ran out at midnight rushing to get to another job leaving a big pile of 10+ garbage bags in the driveway that stayed there for days until I had to remind Kris about it on 2/20/22 when he said someone would be right over but never came until 2/22/22.

On 2/19/22 I texted Kris that the house was colder, not warmer.  He texted me (and I have the text to prove it) "this cannot be, I might have to fill some walls after all, it will be free of charge completely. This is very disappointing. You must be beside yourself but I will make it right. I won't be taking another job until it is. I've literally never run into this but I assure you I will find out where the air is coming from and fix it. Especially when I assured you the world with it.  I will get this corrected for you in a timely fashion. And I still promise you that it will be figured out and perfect before I'm finished. We are not striving for the same as it was. Otherwise it was a waste of a lot of money.  I'm not okay with that. We typically see a dramatic improvement after we do our jobs and I want your house to be the same. I really like you, you were a great customer from start to finish and I'm not ready to let you settle for less, especially lesser that the results that we see on every other job. I'm pretty certain that I already know what the issue is and I'm prepared to make it right. I'm holding off scheduling (other jobs) until we get you figured out."

Kris comes to check things out on 2/21/22 @ 12:17 pm Kris texted "going to be over in a little while and doesn't arrive until 3:33 pm."  When he arrived he admitted he felt all the drafts I reported and stated that his sister Becca "hadn't insulated the rim joists properly" after inspecting them so that would have to be redone and some areas of the attic weren't done either so that would have to be fixed in addition to the attic stairwell and all the walls.  When I mentioned the windows he said he would figure those out too.  There were no "favors" it was a "verbal guarantee." Does the underlined text above sound like he was doing me favors?  No, he had to back up his business because I wasn't getting the results he promised.  He agrees that everything has to be looked at and corrected as it proves in the above text and he was going right home to order the foam and get things moving.

On 2/26/22 (Saturday) I text him asking when the work will begin and can I get something in writing for it all (which I never got) and he states that he is waiting on money from (2) dissatisfied customers (over $10,000 total) and doesn't have the money to do my job until those customers pays. I told him I can't wait.  He said he would get the foam from a friend. So then he texts back he can start on March 1 (which didn't until March 2) and apologized for holding me up. This 2nd phase was guaranteed to be a (2) day turnaround.  It has been (24) days thus far.  The "list of demands"...was...

  • That I will need to be present to lock/unlock the door when coming/going so you have to be in contact with me (arrival and departure times),
  • I need for everything to be in writing before you start, the attic/rim joist re-do needs to be done with the walls and not pushed off to another time,
  • KRIS would be there the entire time supervising his people and not leaving them alone,
  • No using my fuse box this time, it will have to be their generator used for electric they need,
  • I also wrote that I was skeptical about this going smoothly so I wanted to have clear communication to mitigate the damages.
  • Kris didn't do any of these "demands" except use his generator.

On 2/28/22 Kris texts "we're doing this work because I hate the fact that the work we have done didn't result in a positive outcome for you", then this is the first time he talks about me paying for materials.  I responded back that no mention of any more payments had been discussed (as evidenced by the text above underlined).

Work begins on 3/2/22 @ 10:36 am Kris texts he is on his way and doesn't arrive until 12:13 pm.  I had to move out and stay at a hotel because they need access to every single room in the house. I texted Kris to let me know when they are done for the day so I can return and lock the door (Kris never let me know any of the multiple times he was leaving and left my house unlocked for many of them except for the first night he did let me know).  When I brought a broken window sill to his attention on 3/8/22 he said it is broken because he climbed out of it one night so he could lock the door; I had always told him to just call me and I would come lock the doors.  Kris works very late into the night and overnight creating an unprofessional noise nuisance for my neighbors which is very unprofessional.  This (2) day project went from 3/2/22 - morning of 3/7/22 when I returned back from the hotel.  This was when I found damages and unacceptable sloppy work and reached out several times to Kris with no response until the end of the day when he agreed to come on 3/8 to see my complaints.  Kris and worker Mike arrive and agree there are many errors which are theirs and no one else's (did not blame them from other wall painting errors that were done as the last time walls were painted were 12 years ago)....caulk and paint dripped all over multiple wood framed windows and doors/window glass/fabric window treatments/leather pocketbook/clothing/several swipes of paint on my custom framed African art/my bathroom rugs/couch protector sheet/shelf/a blanket rack in my bedroom/oven/spray foam overspray on a garbage can and curtains and a container that will never come out, many items in my house were used for their own purposes that they just took and had no regard for my belongings and I came home to a whole bunch of drawers open and gone through using some medical supplies I had in a cabinet and my protein bars eaten with wrappers seen in the garbage and ruining my dish gloves and a white container in the kitchen and ruining several of my kitchen towels, an entire section of a corner wall in rubble needing sheetrock repair, several window frames pulled away from wall and not put back, â€‹fabric window treatments thrown on the ground full of sanding dust, busted out attic hallway with wood panels split, â€‹trash outside, wrong paint used that doesn't match throughout the entire house, kitchen floors have the top layer ripped away from where they placed tape, a planter hook that was painted that should not have been, my sink is full of chemical residue that they never cleaned, a toilet bowl full of noodle soup that wasn't flushed and I suspect it was my soup can because I eat that kind, (2) dirty wet towels laying on my wood floors for how long??, a few holes not patched behind one of the radiators, a custom frame in the bathroom is chipped, his trailer tire sitting on one of my landscaping rocks that could have gotten broken, some of the holes drilled were patched wonderfully and some are really shitty but I can't take anymore of their poor workmanship to try and fix it....we wouldn't get done for a full year.  This is only the beginning...as they attempted to fix things they made other things worse.

On 3/8/22 I text Kris that per our conversation of my concerns listed above that all will be addressed and he texts back "absolutely. I appreciate the patience with us with the issues at hand, they will be resolved, I refuse to have an unhappy customer....EVER."

3/9/22 Kris was supposed to be here at 10 am and at 11:48 am I text him and he said he thought worker Mike was already there, he was not, and Kris stated he was on his way too.

On 3/14/22 Kris texts "we can get you wrapped up today" and I text back all the things still outstanding and he says "wishful thinking."

On 3/15/22 @ 1:46 pm I text Kris when is he coming because it is almost 2pm, he says he is driving, then at 2:53 pm I re-text that he still isn't here.  Kris replies back that he is trying to drum up work/jobs (when he said he wouldn't do any work other than mine until things were done per underlined text), Kris shows up at 3:50 pm.

On 3/16 Kris tells me on 3/17 he will be here 8-9 am, I text him several times and it isn't until 2:04 pm that he responds saying the slept through his alarm and would get supplies and be right over, at 5:38 pm he still isn't at my house. No work was done and I keep asking him to work full days without piecemealing everything.  I told him to spend the rest of the night getting all supplies and getting all the sleep he needs and arrive tomorrow 8-9 am and there should be no reason for delays, he texts "I will."

3/18/22 at 9:20 am Kris texts "fueling up and will be right there" and is late.  3/18/22 @ 1:50 pm Kris talks to me about the need for my existing circulator to be hooked up and since it is related to my heating I state that this needs to be done ASAP.  He leaves to supply store and at 6:26pm still isn't back.  I gave $500 check for circulator supplies only and requested a receipt which I have never received and any unused money has not been returned.

3/19/22 we text about the outside window vinyl paint still not matching although he says his worker completed it and missing nails in the vinyl.  Kris texts back that he agrees on these outstanding issues and "he'll take care of it."  On 3/19/22 I ask when he is arriving on Monday and he never responds.

On 3/20/22 I text the same question along with asking for an update on circulator and I want him to work full days to get things done, I only want Kris to do the window caulking (figuring he knows how to do it but he doesn't) so his workers don't do a sloppy job like they did with the paint, and continuing to reinforce (as I have all along) that everything needs to be done by Friday 3/25/22.  Kris texts at 11:04 pm that "everything will be done a lot sooner than Friday" 3/25/22 and he would be here "in the morning" on 3/21/22.

On 3/21/22 at 12:51 pm I text Kris that he isn't here yet, he and sheetrock guy arrives at 2 pm just as I was leaving.  Kris states that he took his daughter to school and then went home to sleep and wait for FedEx.  Why can't he be at my house doing the work he needs to do??  I left the house after reinforcing some focused things to be done out of the long list that is still outstanding. I arrive back at 4:37 pm and they all left. Kris responds that there are only a few things left and I send him the list of outstanding issues that is much more than a few things.

On 3/22/22 no work was done.

Kris texted that he would be here 3/23/22 at 9 am "I will be" and he would have no reason not to be on time since he doesn't have to pick his daughter up, he arrives at 11:07 am and Rob Sheetrock guy loses his phone and spends all his time looking for it instead of working.  Kris caulks the outside vinyl around my windows and does a horrible job and I have to have him re-do it and even then it is still terrible but no sense having him do it a third time wrong.  Kris/Rob @ 2:30 pm leaves to go to his shop and I have to text that it is 4 pm and he isn't back yet. He doesn't arrive until 6:49 pm.  Rob Sheetrock guy has put (3) moldings on the attic stairwell and still doesn't have it done right, he does and re-dos and does and re-dos.

Kris states on 3/24/22 he will arrive at 9:00 am to pick up a pipe that he needs to take to Home Depot and arrives at 9:49 am and I have to text at 12:48 pm he still isn't back.  He arrives at 1 pm. He leaves again and is back at 3:09 pm.  He leaves again unannounced and I realize it at 6:14 pm and text that it is professional to let someone know when you are coming/going from someone's house, leaving all my lights on and doors open.  At 6:25 pm he says he is trying to track down the sheetrock guy because he never showed up for work today and nothing got advanced on that project, never heard back if he's coming back.  At 7:44 pm I have to text Kris what time is he arriving tomorrow?  I have been without heat in my home since 3/18 and this afternoon he finally got the circulator working.

On 3/25/22 Kris texts me at 2:40 am threatening me because I called BBB on him. Basically told me I should be afraid of him and what he can do to me. Says he is going to put a Contractor Lien on my house and call people about the asbestos in my basement and other code issues.  Refuses to come back and complete the outstanding work he agreed to do.

As far as Kris stating in his complaint that he implies I had "emptied" my home of all my furniture and belongings so he could work???  How am I going to get everything in a small house with small rooms out of his way completely?  If he does existing houses then he has to work around the belongings in the house.  I removed as much away from the exterior walls as possible prior to them arriving.

As of the end of business day 3/24/22 the following is outstanding...photos of any of these can be provided upon request

  • Further discussion on whether front door/back doors can be insulated
  • Front and back screen door weatherstripping
  • Have Mike caulk inside windows because he says he can do it properly; I'd also like for Mike to re-do the caulking on outside windows which was done sloppy
  • Clean outside of all trash related to the work done
  • Yellow vinyl window wrapping (not the siding) needs to be cleaned and repainted IN FULL cleanly and neatly (not sloppy) so everything in this area matches and you don't just see a sloppy paint swipe
  • Yellow vinyl window wrappings have all (missing) nail holes filled with proper nails
  • Front entry window needs wood trim replaced
  • Front entry window needs plant hanger hung
  • Kitchen sink needs to be cleaned
  • Kitchen floor that is ruined and unrepairable, needs to be replaced by someone who knows what they are doing
  • Living room top of window wood frame needs to be readjusted and placed properly and any damage to walls needs to be repaired
  • Dining room side window wood frame that was readjusted because it wasn’t done correctly in the first place, resulted in wall being damaged with a large hole so that needs to be fixed; Kris put a sloppy glob of grey caulk in the hole and it moved down due to gravity into a clump; Kris also got glops of caulk on my wood floor that needs to be cleaned up
  • My bedroom needs window weatherstripping
  • Entire attic stairwell needs new sheetrock, the walls not disturbed with spray foam got spray foam overspray on them and have to be replaced, along with molding completed and then primed/painted in a way that the paint matches the previous color; all railings have to be put back and anchored so the railing doesn't give way from the sheetrock
  • Window screen in attic window needs to be put back
  • Back yellow door has spray foam overspray which needs to be cleaned in a way that it does not damage the door coloring with scratches or it will need to be replaced by a door professional
  • Anything else that I discover that is related to this project needs to be addressed and resolved
