I made reservations at the Savannah Beach Inn 4/25/06 for our 33rd anniversary. Our Mom went into the hospital 5/16/06. Unexpectedly she passed away on 6/05/06.

I tried to cancel twice: first time on 5/18, they wouldn't let me, again on 5/23 (because I could Mom was continually getting worse) by then the two week notice was up and she, the manager, said we would be fined $200, but that we could come later & that $200 would be applied to our stay.

We got our credit card statement in the mail shortly after and surprised,we were charged for the entire amt. of $1,282.40 and we never went to The Savannah Beach Inn. Now how can that be?!

How is this legal to charge someone who never received their service they paid for? Now when I call there asking for Ann Last , the owner, I get a answering service.

I will never again make reservations unless I am on my way! Even Citi Cards tell me they have sent me a notice to fill out. I have never received such form.
