In June of 1999, my husband, our three kids and myself began looking for a new vehicle. This would be our first new vehicle in seven years. We shopped around and found a Tahoe that we really liked, but we decided to go back to Rocky Top Chevrolet where we had bought our last vehicle.

The same salesman was there we wanted to deal with him, however we were also aquaintances with the sales manager. He let me drive just about everything on the lot. He was bound and determined he could do us better than the other lot with the Tahoe.

I would drive the different vehicles to my husbands work place a fellow worker seemed to know quite a bit about cars and could tell if they had been from the north and had salt damage, some had been wrecked before and some were just not worth the money for various reasons.

The sales manager talked me into letting him find me a van. I agreed we told him we wanted a white one with cd player, rear air, cloth seats, towing option, and nice wheels. He said OK and contacted his representative that goes to the auctions.. He called a couple of days later and told us he had found just the right van and his representative would be bringing it back to the lot in Lenouir City.

When the van arrived they called and the whole family went to go see the new van. When we arrived they had already put the sold sign in the window. We all agreed this was what we wanted. The salesman turned our deal over to the sales manager who promised to make this van just like we wanted. He said he would put the tow bar on, he would install not just a cd player but a six changer cd player under the back seat. He also promised to change the tires, because the front tires were already wore pretty bad. He told us this was a program van from Georgia and had not been wrecked, that is why the tires were worn.. There was also a really bad indention in one of the back tires it looked like it had been curbed or something really bad so bad that it had also rolled the rim up. He said no problem he would give me new rims also. There were some bad places in the paint job in which he also agreed to fix, aloing with red stains in the carpet. There was also some air coming through problems with two of the doors, he agreed to fix everything we found. We were going to the beach in July, he told us to go ahead and take the van and he would make good on everything when we returned. He put the tow bar on because we were pulling a camper. We took the van and went.

When we returned I took the van over as had been agreed upon. The van was there for a month all that was done was he switched the wheels and tires out and he also had a cd player in, but not like he had promised but just a dash cd player that plays one at a time.

He did have the water dumped out of the front blinker light , but it was not replaced as promised. He claims he has ordered the parts for the door, we still have not recieved the call to get them fixed. The paint was never fixed either. Actually we never got anything that we were promised.

I took the van to someone else to get the red out of the carpet, I had Rocky Top billed. After starting a new job which is about 100 miles round trip. We decided to sale the van. We found a buyer, this person took the van to have it checked out and found out it had been wrecked.

These folks brought the van and the information back to us. We were shocked, we felt really ripped off, because we had went in debt for a lot of money to buy a new car and bought a wrecked car instead. We took this information back to the lot and told them this is why the tires are wearing and the car will not stay in alignment.

The salesmanager at first acted as though he didn't know it had been wrecked , but later confessed he knew and that he wasn't afraid to buy wrecked vehicles fix and sale them. We told him we were totally disatisfied, we offered to buy up, that was to buy a more expensive vehicle from him if he would take the van back. He was suppose to get back with us and this was at

Thanksgiving and we still have not heard from them. We want our money back.
