Mr. Abul Bhuiya of Reno Nevada rented us a home in Sparks, NV. We agreed upon renting the house that the fence would be repaired, and that the appliances(refridgerator and oven) would be repaired , as they did not work. We were required to pay our rent to him on a park bench at the mall, or meet him downtown. He refused to give us an address to mail rent payments to.

He never made the agreed upon repairs, and he actually filed an eviction against us during the last month of our lease. He reported to the court that we were in arrears on our rent in the amount of 1500.00, but when we went to court, he told the judge that we owed him nothing. He was told he would have 30 days to pay us our deposit of 1100.00, but instead he sent us a bill for 610.00 stating that we had demolished his property. We cleaned the property for two weeks when we moved in before we could unpack, including disposing of drug paraphanalia and chemicals used to manufacture drugs left by his former tenants.

The neighbors all rallied to our cause, offering to testify in court that the property was in much better shape than before we moved in.

We called the court in the area only to be informed that even though they were aware of several similar cases involving this man and we had written and photographic proof, they could not allow us to file a judgement against him because we did not have a physical address on him. We even tried the attorney generals office, getting the same answer. We were also told by both agencies that we would probably have to stalk him to get a physical address. We tried the police, who informed us that it was a civil issue. When I asked the attorney general how someone could just steal my money without having to answer to any court or agency and told him that there had to be someplace that would help renters, he said that the landlord was definately a scumbag, but that the state laws cover landlords
the same way they cover business owners, and that no state agency
would help us unless we followed him around to get his address, and that he could also file stalking charges against us if he wanted to.

Abul Bhuiya is a scam artist who steals from his tenants and should be publicly uncovered as a thief, and the agencies that help people like him steal from hard-working families should be brought up on charges as well.
