Rent A Center ripoff once you pay for product Marietta GA
I started renting a computer on 6/16/04 w/ Rent A Center. I signed papers to rent this product but I started adding up how much I would be paying to rent it I decided to but & pay if off. I paid it off on 6/19/04 & they was not very happy w/ that. I paid 1,348.65 by credit card. This computer was a used one so I went to best buy & found a brand new computer for $300 cheaper. I brought the computer at best buy & like it alot better.
I called rent a center on 6/28/04 around 8:45 & asked them could I bring the computer back & get my money back the guy told me he was not for sure but he did not think so. The point is I can go out & buy a new computer alot more cheaper than getting it from rent a center so now I am stuck w/ two computers & I only need one.

i WORKED FOR "RAC" (RENT AND COLLECT)FOR 3 YEARS AND WE CHARGED 3 TO FOUR TIMES WHAT THE PRODUCT IS WORTH.
AND THAT GUY THAT SAID ABOUT THE LOANER AND ALL THAT STUFF IS ALL BS. FIRST YOU WILL NOT GET A NEW PC FROM RAC, ALL OF OUR PCS ARE USED AND FULL OF ROACHES AND OBSOLETE.
MY BEST ADVISED IS TO AVOID RAC AT ALL COST AND BUY AT A RETAIL STORE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY LIKE 4 TIMES FOR THE SAME USED COMPUTER.
AND JAMES GO CALL YOUR ROUTE THAT IS VERY HIGH YOU STILL AT 11%!!

Most of the people do not understand what Rent A Center is all about. Everyone thinks that Rent A Center is a "Rip Off" company. Everyone thinks that we are just here to Rip people off. That is not true. We are here to make money. Yes we are a business. Businesses have to make money. But we are also here to help out people that can not get a credit card to buy an expensive item, or the people that just can not afford expensive items, like a big screen or computer. We work with the customers the best that we can. Get give a flexable payment plan that works around there pay days. We also offer free service on the product that you are renting. And if you have benifits Plus you get free service from us for a year after you pay it off. Think of the cost to get the computer fixed at a computer shop. Most likely alot of money. No matter what it is you can bring it into us and we will fix it for free. And even give you a loaner while yours is getting fixed.
Like the lady said above about her computer. She said she went to Best Buy and bought a new one for $300 dollars cheaper than the Rent A Center cost. If you go and figure out what the credit card fees are and the interest rate is on the credit card. We are not far off from that credit card cost. And just say the computer broke, the repair cost. That is alot more than $300. So if you think we are a rip off company.... that means that every company out there is a rip off company. Look at the cost to get your car worked on, the departments stores credit card interest rates. If you put all these factors into play we actually are not a RIP OFF COMPANY. We are a very friendly company just trying to help people out. Just come into any one of your local Rent A Center's and see what we have to offer.
