Recently we purchased a new home. We paid $12,000 over current market value due to misinformation (lies) from Bill Hollings from ReMax in Ventura. He told us that the homes in our complex were selling from $240,000 to $245,000.

He told us he could list the property we were looking at for $260,000 and sell it immediately. He told us the units that had an additional room sold for $275,000.

We mistakingly took his word at face value. BIG MISTAKE. BILL HOLLINGS LIED. WE GOT RIPPED OFF. No home in our complex EVER sold for more than $235,000. The unit with the additional room never sold for more than $235,000.

Bill lied with his statement that the homes were selling for more. Another home, identical to the one we purchased closed one week earlier for $231,900. $12,100 less than what we paid. We found out too late. We placed our trust in a licensed realtor from a supposedly reputable agency and got burned.

What does licensing cover him for? It seems as though he can simply walk away from this. He also failed to make our initial offer of $235,000, stating he knew it wouldn't be taken. He placed two different offering prices on the same contract.

This was sloppy, unprofessional and led to confusion by the sellers. He never put forth offers on other issues we wanted negotiated. Instead, he made decisions for us, behind our back and then proceeded to lie about a negotiation that never took place. All of this found out after our closing on the home. Bill Hollings proved to us as being an irresponsible, unprofessional, mis-representor, who failed in every way to look out for our best interests.

He wanted to sell a home at any cost to us. Well, he got his full commission; BILL HOLLINGS FROM REMAX OF VENTURA RIPPED US OFF BY HIS LIES; HIS FAILURE TO ACT ON OUR BEHALF AND HIS COMPLETE LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY AS A REALTOR. WARNING...DON'T USE REMAX OF VENTURA AND ESPECIALLY, STAY AWAY FROM BILL HOLLINGS. (REMAX OWNER, FRED EVANS, STOOD BEHIND HIS EMPLOYEES ACTIONS).

In repsonse to the unfounded claims from Mr. & Mrs. Braid, please note that from the date of their claim, less than 12 months later the subject property was sold at a $144,000 profit. Please referr to Ventura MLS# 205824.

I feel that the complaint was uncalled and deflamatory. I consider myself a professional in the real estate industry and have had a blemish free record for the past 25 years. If you have any further questions, I would be more than happy to discuss this with you, at any time.
