Complaint Review: Recreational Factory Warehouse

Interested in purchasing a pool table, I received a mailer that caught my attention. It showed a pool table and underneath read from $1399.00. We live quite a long distance from the store, so I called to make certain they had that particular table at that price. The salesman described the table in the ad, and said yes we have that table at that price. I questioned him further, the ball and claw table, you have that one for $1399.00? Yes, we do, he answered.

I then asked for his name, and he hesitated. I should have known at that time he was giving me a false name. After quite a delay he answered "Steve". I immediately contacted my husband and he drove to the store to meet with "Steve". Needless to say there was not a salesman named "Steve" there was a warehouse guy named Steve, but he had the day off, and there was not a pool table like the one we were interested in at $1399.00, but they would gladly sell us one for $2000.00

I then called the store and spoke with a salesman who instead of being apologetic,was very sarcastic and rude. He responded with "This is the truth, Lady. We do have a pool table like the one pictured, and we do have pool tables for $1399.00." When I relayed that "Steve" said you had that particular table for $1399.00" (By the way, this salesman sounded just like "Steve".)
He became billigerant and hung up on me. I called back and said, I think we were disconnected. He said we were not disconnected, I hung up on you. BEWARE!
