Complaint Review: Ramada Plaza Resorts

In october of 2001 I contacted Ramada Plaza Resorts for one of there cruise packages. I paid by doing an electronic check. Twenty Minutes after getting my package my job called me and told me they were let me go.

So I quickly called back Ramada and told them not to put my check through that I had just been let go from my job. The first thing the lady I talked tried to do was down size the package, and I explained again that I had just been let go, and the money was needed to pay bills now.

She stated that she would stop the check from going through. 13 days later I got a checking account statement which showed that the electronic check indeed had gone through. I had thought I had canceled the check and wrote that amount back into my check book. But since they had cashed it, checks were bouncing. I called Ramada and we talked, they didn't have written down the conversation I had with the women I spoke with but told me they would debit back my checking account.

I was lied to for the next three months until finally 89 days later I recieved a check in the mail. Lets just say this caused me $620 in bounce check fees. I have contacted them and they have tried to ignore my letters and requests, but there is legal action to be had, and if your in a similar boat I implore you to go after these decievers.
