Complaint Review: Ramada Plaza Resort

Ramada Plaza Resort I was taken in by the names Ramada, Carnival and Universal Orlando. I paid the $698. over the phone. I am being called repeatedly for an aditional $698 to keep my 18 month booking which they promised to be 3 years on the phone. I just want my money back. I now know it is just a scam, not a vacation. RE: FULL REFUND DUE TO VIOLATION OF FLORIDA'S DECEPTIVE AND UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES ACT

Dear Mr. Lambert and Ramada Plaza Resorts

Please refund the full purchase price of 698.00 for the vacation package I purchased from Ramada Plaza Resorts based on false and misleading advertising and statements. My package information is as follows:

Customer reference number FT121206-008XA
Confirmation number: 350762212
Reservation number: MDC 120906
Issue Date: 12/04/06
Down Payment: $698.00 via telephone

This letter is a formal demand letter for full refund of the above funds. Ramada Plaza Resorts has willfully and knowingly violated Florida 's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act by engaging in unfair methods of competition, unfair, unconscionable and deceptive trade practices, including, but not limited to, travel scams, and false or misleading advertising.

Ramada Plaza Resorts OFV/IM, LLC is in violation U.S. Postal Service Mail Fraud Laws since you chose to send your false and misleading advertising and propaganda via the U.S. Mail.

Complaints against Ramada Plaza Resorts, Ellen Wasserstrom, Registered Agent, Daniel Lambert, Manager, Robert Tantalo, Manager, and James Verrillo, Manager, have been filed with the following agencies:

After receiving mail that I had won a $1600 savings on a cruise vacation, I made the limited time phone call. I talked to Christina FT0549, whose name appears in many online letters of complaint. I purchased this package after being promised a Spectacular Florida/Tropical Caribbean Cruise" vacation package which included a 3 year booking extension. The names Ramada", Carnival" and Universal Orlando" led me to believe this was a quality vacation. I have since learned that my deluxe award-winning" accommodations include two sub-standard hotels and a very old, poorly kept ship. The Internet is full of dissatisfied customers and governmental warnings and litigation. It is also full of your previous employees apologizing to victims and warning against your fraud tactics. I should not have let the Ramada", Carnival" and Universal Orlando" names lead me to think I was truly receiving a legitimate quality vacation. I should have checked. Recent callers (Deanna, Robin, and Christine) to me from Ramada Plaza Resorts have insisted that I pay an additional $698 in order not to loose a booking by June 4, 2008. They want your credit card number RIGHT NOW, to pay the $698 'registration' fee. You're told a lot of mumbo-jumbo about being passed on to a 'Verification officer' who will 'lock in' your credit card number. And for your 'security', the package will include a recording of the whole phone call. When I asked about the 3 year booking extension, I was told there was no record of that. Since each representative I spoke with said that I was being recorded for customer service and quality control purposes, I am sure there is a recorded record of it. Additionally, I took notes because there was so much to remember. Due to the enormous dissatisfaction of previous customers complaining on the internet, and because I do not desire to deal with this company, or invest money in such a disappointing, substandard vacation, I am requesting a full refund.

This letter is registered online at ripoffreport.com, along with countless other letters of victims. I will update my communication with Ramada Resorts through rioffreport.com as they unfold. It is my hope that I be reporting that Ramada does the proper thing by refunding my money.

Since you, your co-conspirators, and your company are no strangers to litigation, you know all too well that it will be worth your effort to see that my refund is sent to me promptly. I have no intention of going away or letting this end until I have been fully justified. I may be reached by U.S. Mail ONLY. All correspondence must be in writing. Telephone calls will not be accepted!

You may credit my credit cards or mail the refund to the address at the beginning of this letter.

Hi:

Did you get your refund finally?  I has this trip ready for next week.  My husband is today trying to cancel all this crap.  I felt so sad, terrified, and ashamed.
