We bought about 28sq yards of Clam Shell White carpet from Quality Carpet in Nov. of 1998, and a few months later noticed it turning Yellow and spotty all over.

We were assured this carpet had been treated with Scotch Gaurd before we bought it, but the more it was cleaned, the worse it became, and it even started to come apart at the seam.

We made many phone calls to the owner, was assured about 3 times that someone would come to our home to look at it, but to this time, no one has ever given us the time of day, let alone come to our home.

I have been cleaning and taking care of carpet for about 30 years, and I pretty well know Bad Carpet when I see it, and this is the worst.

Quality Carpets of Corbin, Kentucky, and its associates never, ever had any intention of ever replacing this carpet, and there may be many others out there that have been done the same way.

We paid 700.00 for this carpet, but it will cost much more to replace. We hope to see this store get their Just Reward someday.

Rebuttal:
Many people claim they have been doing something for 30 years only to find they have been doing it wrong. You mentiontioned you cleaned your own carpet. If it is turning yellow on you the the PH is to high in the HARD water you are using. But the number one reason is you are soaking your carpet.

A professional carpet cleaner, and thier are only a few real
pro's only clean the top 1/3 of your carpet fiber.

When you soak your carpet, pad and wood underlament you will bring the brown coloring with it. It will wick, just like a candle.

So if you want to keep your carpet from yellowing, you must clean it correctly.
