I have a problem with the windows in my master bedroom. There is condensation in all of the windows. I reported the problem to Pulte they informed me that there was a 1 year warranty. They did however give me the name of the company who installed the windows. I called them to see if I could have the windows replaced & was informed that they warrantied their product for 5 years. I explained that it had not been five years. She then asked if I was the original owner, I told her no. She then informed me that I was not elegible since I was not the original owner. I find this totally unacceptable!

We have the same problem with numerous windows in our home. The only difference is....we ARE the original owners of the home. The home is now 10 years old, but the problem started when the home was only 5 years old. You spend alot of money to have a brand new home built, only to have crap windows installed. They told us the same thing. You have a 1 year warranty, even though they are supposedly a lifetime warranty. The lifetime warranty for them is they give you a list of contractors that work in your area. You have to contact them yourselves. They come out and look at the window, get it ordered, then come back and charge you over $150 per window to install it.

Also not good quality AT ALL. Shame on you Pulte! The patio door you can sit here in the winter and not only feel the cold come through the windows, you can actually SEE the blind moving when the cold winter winds are blowing here in MN.

why would that be unacceptable?

Home purchases are as-is unless agreed upon, and most "new" home builders won't warranty the home past the original purchaser. This isn't a car where federal law comes into play.
