Prokop & Prokop, Attorneys causing a neighborhood WAR just to get a few bucks in their pocket
I am speaking of the Prokop in East Setauket, NY. Even his sign is a lie because the 2nd Prokop, his brother, won't practice with him because of his ethics. Brother Prokop is in Riverhead and I do not know anything about him. I had a disagreement with my neighbors over the cutting of branches from their trees that were hanging over my pool.
Prokop found RPAP law 861, which involves tresspassing and cutting and carring off limbs, etc. He advised his clients to make their story fit this law. He advised them to lie!! We have never tresspassed. He brought up a million dollar suit against us. If anything, it should have been a small claims matter, but Prokop saw an opportunity to get money from my Homeowners Insurance company.
He knew they would cover it and he knew it would be very expensive to defend us. He also knew that he would never have to meet the burden of proof. Knowing that, He put anyting he wanted in the suit, Lies.
Right before going to deposition, Prokop demands a settlement of 17,000.00, a small number compared to what he was asking for in the suit. So now we are stuck giving this piece of trash money for nothing because if we go to court, it will cost us more than the settlement figure, even if we win, which we would. There's no way to prove a lie. Now there is so much tension between neighbors, who knows when it will erupt. Its at the boiling point.
Of course Prokop doesn't care because he is not living next to his victim. But he has made his clients lives a living hell. I will forever hold a grudge against them and do everything I can, within the law, to make them miserable for as long as I live there. I will never show them any respect or courtesy. As far as I am concerned, They and Prokop are just petty thieves and should be punished.
I have lived next to these people for 11 years and have always been keeping to ourselves and never caused a problem for anyone. All I wanted was for my property to be safe from their rotted, ill-maintained trees and to get a little sun on the pool. Now it has become a Hate campaign.
The trees are unsafe and unhealthy and they won't let us cut anything, nor will they take care of them properly. Well you can bet, if anyting ever falls in my yard again, they will be the one's defending themselves. Prokop conformed a story to fit the law just so he could scam my insurance company and walk away with a measly $5,000.
Meanwhile, it will never be over for his clients or us until someone moves. He is an unethical piece of garbage.
