#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

As a former employee of Prime Tv customer service even i don't know if everyone gets their rebate, I had had customers call in a say that they did finally get a rebate but it takes longer than 6-8 weeks trust me,MORE LIKE 3 YEARS IN SOME CASES. A lot of the time customers will call in about 1 week after the 8 wks have ellapsed, and then they (customer service) will tell you that they are going to put your rebate on RUSH which will will take 2-4 more weeks and then if you don't recieve it and call back they will tell you they are going to place your account on critical which which will take 15-21 business days for your check to be cut keep in mind that this is still another 3 weeks but they will says 21 days because the word "week" sounds like an eternity. Also keep in mind that each time they place your account on a new status, that does not necessarily mean that that's when your going to recieve your check, that means that your check will not be written for another 15-21 business days and also checks are only written on fridays and mailed on mondays and if there happens to be a holiday then add another day.

If your patient you can go through this process or it has been to my understanding that if you would like to speed things up customers that become irate or threaten to contact the BBB or the attorney general get the best results as far as a check, this approach only works after you are overdue on critical, but i wouldn't bother calling them to threaten them because a whole bunch of other people already have and they can't do anything about it they (customer service) only get paid $7.00/hr.

So what is the best way to get your rebate. CALL DIRECTV not primetv even though you ordered through primetv, and threatened directv if you do not get your rebate from primetv you will cancel the SERVICE because they want you to keep service and tell them you refuse to wait any longer. Chances are that in most cases directv will go ahead and pay you your $99.

WARNING: You must keep the directv system activated for the consecutive 12 months according to the contract else your rebate could become void. I know that that doesn't seem fair and thats because it isn't. And if you do decide heck with the $99 and just cancel make sure you contact primetv to have the equipment picked back up, they will do this free of charge, because if you don't they will try to charge you $150 dollars for each reciever not returned

So call DIRECTV AND COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN, unless of course you can afford an attorney
