Priceline Purchases
Beware when filing bids through Priceline for anything. I recently bid on car rentals through priceline.
Following my bid I used their automated telephone service to find the status of my bid. I was told via this service my bid had been rejected. i also went on-line to their site and checked my bid status there as well. it also indicated that my bid had been rejected.
Imagine my surprise when I got home from my trip to find that I had been billed for the car rental that I did not receive. Priceline refuses to do anything to help me. I have contacted the assigned car rental company direct. They could do nothing but did give me a $50.00 voucher. That was Budget Rent-A-Car. Budget was very sympathetic.
Would I use priceline again? Yes, but with extreme caution.

Priceline Makes "48 Hours" Rip-Off Report
#20
Fri, September 22, 2000
48 Hours reports that Priceline has been ripping off many people. My own experience hasnt been good but, Budget Rent-A-Car has sent me a second $50 voucher even though they weren't at fault. I at least can recommend Budget-A-Car as caring about repeat business! Priceline has not responded to my repeated requests for reimbursement.
I recommend at this time persons try to get good airfares directly from the Airlines themselves instead of Priceline. Southwest is running a $99 special anywhere that they fly.
Happy Trails to All.....
