Please do not be a victim and fall for this scam of a company. Took my car in for a $18.99 oil change and came out spending over $2800! Within a quick visual of my BMW, they scared me into thinking if I drove an inch further in my car that it would break down immediately and cause not only my death, but the death of others! They told me that I needed a new rack and pinion without delay. being single and not knowing much about cars - I believed them. Wait, this is only where the troubles begin.

i was told the car would be ready by next day, instead I had to get a 7-day car rental (that I paid). It turned into a 7-day nightmare. I received the call that it was ready for pickup. I drove the car home. By next morning, the car would not turn. The steering was locked up. I call to report this new terror and was told to bring it back in. I was told that I would be able to pick it up later that day. That turned into a 2-day car rental (more money out of my pocket).  Driving the car back home I could feel that the problem was not fixed. I went back to speak with the manager who just looked at me like a deer caught in headlights. Steve Minnix said that Rich Hughes handles that and he proceeded to disappear into a back door. I never saw him again. Rich Hughes was very rude to me speaking as if I caused the problem. He told me to leave the car with them and they'd let me know when it will be ready.

This time I decided not to leave the car within their hands. I returned a few days later with a male relative. I wanted to see if they could explain to him what they did to my car. Instead Rich Hughes had the worst attitude ever. He wanted to know why I brought someone in with me. I told him that I felt that I was getting the short end of the stick because 1. I'm a female; 2. African-American; 3. Because my car was a BMW (perhaps he thought I had some money). Mr. Hughes demanded that I leave his shop and that he was through with me. Mr,. Hughes' outburst even had the mainly white customers waiting on their cars shaking their heads in disagreement with him!

I have never returned to Precision Tune Auto Care again and never will. Out of over $2,800 not including car rental; I took my car to another auto care company. They observed that the supposed rack and pinion that Precision claimed to replace with a brand new one was indeed a cracked rack and pinion! Precision had charged me for a new rack and pinion but it was an old defective one. I had to pay for a another new rack and pinion plus the cost of labor. Ever since then my car has not given me a moment's problem. Mr. Hughes told me that it was against their policy to give the customer any parts they remove from any of their repairs.

Update: I am in the process of small claims court to seek restitution from Rich Hughes amd Steve Minnix at Precision Tune Auto Care located at 130 Jefferson Street, Newnan, GA. 30263.
