As I have now read many times on line...I contacted Sony when my camera stopped working. A simple problem to fix really the toggle switch just wouldn't change from view to picture or video. At the same time - I sent my bosses camera in. His screen had stopped viewing.

One day I was notified his was smashed and therefore the warranty was void. It would be $358 to repair.

The next (they didn't realize they had just called the same person the day before) I was notified that my camera too was smashed and therefore the warranty was void. It would be $358 to repair.

I told them no, it broke in my hand.....it was always kept in a case there isn't even a scratch on it. They said nope we have a picture right here with the dings and dents on it. I said look you can't fool me send it back!

I just got it back. Now it contains dents that look like somebody took a screwdriver to it.

I contacted Sony repair who told me they always defer to the shop. Well now I don't even want it repaired it looks like it has been through a garbage disposal!

I have written all the Sony executives I could find. I reported them to the BBB. I have written the Attorney Generals office. I cannot believe that they can get away with this!

If this is the way Sony chooses to deal with their customers I advise you DO NOT BUY SONY PRODUCTS! I've read online that this is standard practice for cameras, televisions, laptops, gaming systems and camcorders all alike.

I am just disgusted. As a single mom I valued this camera that i loved. For the four months that it actually worked. To demand someone pay $358 to repair a $700 camera with a full warranty from Sony was ludicrous in the first place - but for them to damage my camera in this manner shows how guileless they truly are.

RIP OFF AND A FRAUD!
CONTACT THE BBB AND ATTORNEY GENERAL if this happens to you.

They need to be shut down!

Warranty - my foot. Should just have promised me a check for $10,000 was on the way in the mail...same difference.
