Pizza Hut Ripoff energy surcharge scam San Diego California
I am writing to let people know about a scam in in the san diego pizza hut area involving an energy surcharge. The company for years charged a 50 cent hidden energy surcharge. When it was covered by a local news channel last year the company did away with the surcharge but added a transaction fee for checks and credit cards, and increased their delivery charge from 50 cents to $1.75!!!! I just thought people should be aware of this. Also the DA of san diego has filed a lawsuit against pizzahut of san diego.

I never said that the delivery charge was unfair but rather the energy surcharge that was illegally being added. All I said about delivery charge was that when they got caught chargeing the energy surcharge they raised the delivery charge from 1.00 to 1.75. We as drivers only recieve.75 of that. I never said that the delivery charge was a bad thing only that the company I work for was corrupt.

Hi, I work for a pizza hut across the country from there, as a delivery driver. I'm not sure why you think that delivery charges are unfair. I can't speak for the area you're in, but gas out here is about 2.25/gal . We only charge $1.00 for delivery, which will soon be changing. Did you know that we use our own cars, buy our own gas, and do our own repairs? Pizza Hut won't help with any of it. The average Driver has 2 flat tires a year, 1 major repair (over $1,500) Does thier brakes 2 - 5 times a year, and generally, gets an oil change every 3 weeks. That, AND GAS! a lot of us actually lose money, because of customers that don't tip for whatever reason. that $1 (in my case) is meant to protect us from that. Heck, we only receive $.75 of that. So before you get uppity about the delivery charge, try to remember that we're just trying to make a living. If you don't want to pay for the convineince of delivery, pick it up.
