Pioneer Credit has called me repeatedly attempting to contact my friend.  My friend has student loans that are in deferment--they are not in default and have not been sent to collections.  There is no reason for this well-known debt collection agency, which works for Salli Mae and the Fed, to attempt to collect anything from my friend.

I consider this harassment and a baseless attempt to collect a debt that does not exist.  If Pioneer Credit has received defaulted loan information from the Fed then this information is in error and it is the responsibility of Pioneer and the Fed to reconcile their erroneous records.

I have explained repeatedly that my friend has no personal business with Pioneer or any representatives of the company.  The representative refuses to listen or update Pioneer's records based on any information I provide.

I understand that Pioneer is bound by Federal regulations from accomplishing anything with me.  Regulations are designed to convey authority, superiority, power and the unlikelihood that an individual such as myself can handle the situation and correct the errors in my or my friend's favor.

Please report Pioneer if you have been fraudulently contacted as well.

Please feel free to defend yourself, Pioneer, since you are a "self" in the US; a real legal person, with about 1,400 agents doing your evil bidding.  I am not afraid of you, and I do not believe your lies.  Check back with the Fed, and get your information right before you start harassing people.  This is the United States of America, and this aggression will not stand.

My experince with Pioneer

#2Consumer Comment

I have been dealing with Pioneer. They are trying to collect on my student loans and attempting to work out a deferral plan.

The one thing that bugs me about them is that their number always shows up as a cell phone from some random location so, whereas I would normally not answer a call from a collection agency, these guys catch me off guard every time.

However, I have found Pioneer to be highly professional, very courteous, and very willing to work out a feasible plan.

It sounds like you are dealing with a rogue agent. My first step would be to report this to Pioneer and the Department of Education. If that doesn't work, I would get a bit more aggressive. Bear in mind, however, that they are collecting for government agencies, so different rules than would apply to a standard consumer collection are in place.

Best of luck!
