Nourse Ford Dealer puts inflated income information on credit application...dealer fraud *UPDATE BBB cover-up
Some dealers will do anything just to make a sale. In April 2000 my son was sold a new Mustang at Nouse Ford in Chillicothe, Ohio.
At the time he was an employee and had just been moved to a new job within the dealership with the understanding of getting a substantial pay raise. This turned out to be NOT the case. In fact, he ended up making LESS money at the new job (no, it was not in new/used car sales). As an employee, my son thought they would certainly be fair and honest with him. WRONG! They gave him an extremely bad deal on the trade-in, they did not give him the expected "employee discount" at the time of purchase, and slipped in a financing deal that called for 17.45% interest.
I have since obtained SOME adjustment on the price. Of course, the dealer then decided to charge more for wheels and tires that were put on the car about a month earlier. At this point, the loan has not been processed.
My son realizes that he has been ripped-off, given a monthly payment which nobody in his/her right mind would even consider approving, and wants to dump the Mustang. During a recent trip to Nourse, he saw a copy of the credit application showing income figures that were greatly inflated - and it was NOT in his handwriting. He requested a copy- but was refused.

The tried to do the same thing to my sister, by changing the interest rate. She was insisting on buying then car.
This morning I was doing a search on these crooks and up came your web site! My sister is now going to another dealer.
She thanks you and I thank you.

Sorry I did not see the rip-off report before I went to this dealer. They did much worse to me. You were lucky.
I called the BBB. Very strange. BBB said they have a satisfactory rating? I asked them again, "your telling me they have had no complaints?" ... the woman then said, "well, Nourse Ford has been a member in good standing for many years, and they have resolved any disputes." I asked the woman why she did not tell me that right off? I asked her, what were those complaints?
The woman said it was against their policy to give out that information.
I then told her, well what the hell good is the BBB. I hung up on them.
Then I read the story on your rip-off report home page about the Better Business Bureau! WoW !
I later called back and told the BBB and threatened to sue them.
I will be calling them again and letting them know about the rip-off report I field with the badbusinessbureau.com.
Thank you for your service.
It's about time.
