You recently filed a Report on Rip-off Report.com regarding your complaint against America Online - AOL.

Here at Ripoffreport.com we've had over 3,000 e-mail inquiries and over 800 Rip-off Reports filed from AOL members. Many of the complaints fall into four categories:

1. New Account Created Without Authorization: AOL members with multiple screen names are converted to separate accounts without the members consent and AOL bills the consumer for the additional accounts.
These new accounts are sometimes called "spin off" accounts.

2. Unauthorized Charges: Charges for AOL CreditAlert, AOL Netmarket, AOL ShoppersAdvantage and AOL PrivacyGuard suddenly appear on a consumer's credit card, debit card or are automatically withdrawn from a bank account without the consumers consent.

3. Can't Cancel Trial Membership: AOL members sign up for AOL CreditAlert, AOL Netmarket for a free trial period, usually 90 days, and try to cancel but the charge is never removed from their credit card or credited back to a debit card or bank account.

4. Desk Planner: AOL members receive an unsolicited desk planner in the mail from AOL and is charged for the desk planner if it's not returned within a certain period of time.

We at Rip-off Report.com are a consumer advocate organization dedicated to fighting on behalf of consumers who have been or are currently being victimized by fraudulent and illicit business practices such as those allegedly perpetuated upon you by AOL .
