In April of 2001 I ordered a NextCard Visa at Nextcard.com, they advertised a 9.99% introductory rate that included balance transfers. I transferred $3,858.00. I received my card in April and made my first transaction on May 28, 2001. I paid every month ahead of schedule and sometimes twice in one month. Then on my October statement the rate changed to 18.99%(no notice)and then on my November statement the rate changed to 23.99% (no notice). On November 11, 2001 I paid off the credit card, which left me with a $7.58 credit. It took over three weeks for my account to be credited with my pay off check. (I could not use my card for a month) I called customer service and the story changed each time why the amount hadn't been credited. I was even hung up on. After it finally got credited, I called to have my interest rate lower. I was told they could go back down to 9.99% effective on the next statement. It never happened, even after repeated calls,so I took out a cash advance(almost to my limit) and was charged 24.99% on that which put me over my limit. They started calling my house 5 or 6 times a day, once at 11:30pm at night for $69.00. I hadn't even received my statement yet to find out why the charge. They called me at least twice a day at work(illegal in Texas). When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they would say I didn't need one just to pay them over the phone now. The people that called never took down what you said, because they would call back and I would say you just called 30 minutes ago. My husband was told that it was none of his business why they were calling. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS SCAM AND HARRASSMENT! Stacy Dallas, Texas
