The National Collectors Mint is one of the biggest fraudulent companies I know of. All coins and coin sets they sell are non-monetary and worth absolutely nothing. They trick the unknowing and elderly inti thinking they're getting something they aren't! My grandmother bought me two of the "$50 buffalo tribute proof" coins thinking they were worth something and thinking they were special because I have a rather extensive coin collection.
Go on their website and look at any of the coins or coin sets. They all say NON-MONETARY right in the description. On all the coins, there is the word "COPY" stamped into them suggesting they are not the real thing. You are made to think they are real pure gold when actually they are made of a gold clad bronze. They didn't tell you that on the TV did they?
Even the dimes are fake. ALL COINS FROM THIS COMPANY ARE FAKE AND ARE WORTH NOTHING. Why else would you get two "$50 gold coins" for $19.90? Because they are 100% fake. That's why. I strongly advise against any purchases from this company. If you want the real deal, go to an actual coin or antique shop. They always have good stuff.

The coins have 31mg of gold in them. Lets do the math. $33.30 x 0.0031 = 0.10323 making each coin worth roughly 10 (cents)

I know its not much more, but it does give more value to it. Did you every think the coins are valuable to collectors? The value of coins such as these lay in what value someone who collects the tribute coins would pay. Who knows, 50 years from now they could be valuable. I know its also a tiny amount, but how much bronze is in the coins? Bronze holds value also.

My grandma is losing her mind and doesn't know any better. In the add on TV (watch it again) they make it out as though they are made of pure gold. They never mention the gold clad bronze. I'm not going to get mad at my grandma for doing something nice? And I know she got taken. That's obvious. And I stated a few other of the same things you did. I'm mad at the NCM for making it out as though they are made of pure gold.

Instead of being mad at the Ntl Collectors Mint, you should be mad at your grandmother for ordering these "fraudulent" coins. Please don't come back w/, well, she's elderly, b/c that's an excuse. Everyone, no matter their age, should know that those commericals are bull/fake/a rip off. If they were real gold, why would they only be $50/ea? That's another thing...I've seen that same commercial countless times, and I believe they sell for $19.99/ea, so your grandmother really got taken...but again, it's actually her fault for falling for this "scam". She did a nice gesture I guess, but c'mon, if you have a extensive coin collection, why would anyone want to buy coins off of TV? I hope she's not one of those people who open up the USA Today, and say, oh look, the Amish are giving away free heaters today....
