NTB started doing work on the vehicle in 2006. Since the original complaint was sent to your office, I have done more investigating into the Constant FRAUD commited by National Tire & Battery. I filed a complaint with the National Tire & Battery Main Business number 1-877-227-5682 over the phone, complaint # 493 3030. Mario, the Director of the South Side Chicago NTB Franchises called me in an attempt to resolve the dispute. I spoke to him and told him that I wanted a refund of the amount of $472.53. He stated that he would not refund my money. He offered to have the Sway Bar Completed, I initially agreed if they would credit me the difference between the Sway Bar Cost and the Inner Tie Rod replacement cost and Mario declined.  I then declined due to the fact that I no longer trust this company to complete work orders properly, and I decided that I would go elsewhere to have the Sway Bar replaced. I again asked for a Refund of the $472.53 and he declined.

I then took the vehicle to PEPBOYS located at 18024 South Halsted Homewood IL. 60430 on Nov. 28th, 2011 to have the Sway Bar replaced. Upon their inspection, I had them inspect the Inner and Outer Tie Rods to see if they were New and had been replaced. In the comment section of the Pep Boys receipt it states " Left Front Inner and Outer Tie Rods New, and right front Only the inner tie rod is new, the Outer tie rod is Old. I have included a receipt, and I have photos taken from the inspection at Pep Boys of both the Inner & Outer Tie Rods. The right front outer tie rod is Old and was never replaced. However per my enclosed receipt on March 05, 2011 I took the Chevy to NTB #757 to have a Tune Up and to have the RIGHT FRONT Outer tie Rod Replaced. They charged me $232.82 to replace the outer tie rod, but THEY DID NOT replace it. This is outright FRAUD & THEFT. I have been driving an unsafe vehicle unknowingly. Also due to the Outer RIGHT Tie Rod not being replaced we now have a host of other problems including the Sway Bar that was replaced by Pep Boys, the Right Axle needs to be replaced. The Outer Right Tie Rod is Bad and still needs to be replaced, Our Tires are also worn out due to the performance of the vehicle being that the tie rod was never replaced. The tires must now be replaced also. The tie rods affect the steering of the vehicle, and can cause erratic steering, and major tire wear. We are blessed to have not had an accident being that we were driving an unsafe vehicle from May 07, 2011. We have been victims of Fraud & theft by the NTB #757 National Tire & Battery, its Manager, Service manager & its mechanics.

I am happy you posted this.

I, too, am in need of a right front outer tie rod.  I thought I had it replaced a few years ago, but my buddy's uncle's sister says it didn't get done.

I wonder how Pep Boys could have known the age of that tie rod?  They must be real experts.  Maybe your tie rod had a date stamped on it?

I also wonder how your right front outer tie rod caused your sway bar and cv axle to go bad and need to be replaced.  Maybe your experts can let me know how those are related.  Mine must need to be replaced too.  I mean, why should I have to pay for my car repairs when I can just blame all the worn parts on someone else and drag their name through the mud attempting to get them to pay for it?

Now that I think about it, my washer fluid ran out a few months ago.  I bet that's because my right front outer tie rod was bad.  There's a light bulb out in my radio.  They probably bumped something.

I'm very happy that you posted this useful information.  It reminds us that if we try hard enough, we can always find a way to blame someone else for our misfortunes.
