Questionable Activities

My husband purchased $20 Gold Double Eagle pieces from National Collector's Mint with Authenticity forms and they have a Serial number etched on the back. Yet I can not locate any information for them to determine their worth today. I am not sure how much he paid for them, nor if he used a credit card when he originally purchased them. However, I see that they are selling more of these coins for less than $20.00 today. I'm beginning to think they have not increased in price over the years but remain the same price. I am really just curious as to whether they are indeed 10 Mil 24 KT Gold Clad Base as specified on paperwork. Or are they worthless?
