Craigslist SCAM - They ask for this car report and blow you off

"Serious" buyer will reach out from craigslist asking for this report for the car you are selling. They will tell you what time and have a legit conversation with you through text message. Introduced themselves as "Jimmy" and everything. He said he would come by to look at the car as long as I sent him this NAR report. Seemed legit unlike other scam messages I received, but should have known when he specifically mentioned this site saying its cheaper than others like carfax. I signed up and made the $25 purchase through paypal.

I received the report and it seems legit as they do in fact send you the report. The problem is the "buyer" never responds or gets back to you. He finally did respond with a few excuses talking about his mechanic couldn't come and a family emergency came up, but he can come in 2 weeks lol. When I called the local number he contacted me from it did not seem to be a personal line as it had a generic voicemail. The chat on all of their sites was the same person "Brian Knowles".

His responses to some of my grievances when it took them 2 hours to deliver the report were a red flag. One response he asked me if I was "intoxicated or trolling him". He claimed there were "some issues with the DMV server" and some other BS lies. I suspect it was to keep you going long enough to use your debit card to make a fraudulent purchase. Either that, or they are playing a game of make money off the $25 over a large number of people. Dragging it on to make it seem like they are a legit company and the fact they deliver the report makes it an actual delivered service.

When I read some reports on other sites with the same outcome I realized I was scammed. Some even saying there debit cards were comprimised. I did not wait and had to cancel my debit card, dispute the charge, and order a new one.

HUGE hassle stay away!
