Complaint Review: Multilingual Books

Multilingual Books They "processed" the order, charged my card, never sent anything, and ignored my inquiries. No one answers the phone! Internet

I've purchased "Instant Immersion" Italian last summer and loved the game "Who is Oscar Lake."  But the version they gave me constantly crashed.  So this summer I looked online for a better version.  Multilingual Books offered one - even a Mac version - for $89.  I thought the price was high, but it seemed like a better product (graphics, etc) and I figured it was less likely to crash.  I bought it on July 5th and they sent me a confirmation e-mail.   They charged my credit card on July 8th. 



I never received a shipment confirmation or any other contact from their company.  On July 22nd, I e-mailed them to ask about the status of my order.  No response.  I tried again on the 28th.  Same thing.  I tried calling them and only got a generic voice mail message.  Very fishy!  



It only took me five minutes to find this website, by searching "Multilingual Books" and "scam".



Don't ever order anything from this company!  I will be spreading the word to as many people as I can.

After posting here and e-mailing the company informing them that I had posted here, I received an e-mail apologizing for the delay and saying they had had trouble obtaining the product.  They offered to get it for me within a week, but said it would come in different packaging.  (???) Or, they said, I could download it directly from their website (why wasn't that an option from the beginning?). 



Anyway, I informed them I was no longer interested and asked for a refund.  They agreed, said they would refund the money within three days, and they did.



I honestly don't know if this was a case of scamming or simply very poor customer service.  Either way, it was a very unpleasant experience. I am happy that they refunded my money, but I would never order from this company again.
