Filing report for my 81 year old, disabled, widowed mother in law.

Scott Philo convinced my mother in law to purchase a massage chair to help with her mobility problems. He stated the only form of payment accepted was personal check, so she has no recourse from a credit card company.

Price of the chair included a $200.00 charge for "White Glove" delivery and set up. When the chair arrived by freight truck, there was only one driver who stated he would not bring the chair in to the house or set it up. Drop off on the sidewalk was the only action available. My 81 year old mother in law believed her only option was to refuse delivery of the chair on to the sidewalk in front of her house.

Multiple phone calls to Mr. Philo requesting a refund, less the invoice shipping charge of $199.99, have been refused. Mr. Philo states that his contract will be enforced, the chair must be accepted, or storage fees and other costs will accrue that exceed the total invoice price of $4399.98. Mr. Philo states that legal action may be taken against my mother in law if the chair is not accepted and the matter closed.

In other words, he is keeping the chair and the money unless the chair is dropped off. This is abuse against a vulnerable senior citizen living alone.

Again, we publically request Massage Chairs For Less to provide a refund of $4199.99 for the botched delivery. We will not accept any product delivery now due to the confrontational nature of the previous discussions with this company.
