Complaint Review: Mary Jo Spicer

I am writing this to warn others of the high pressure, threatening, and harassing sales tactics used by primarily online Independent Consultant Mary Jo Spicer aka MJ Spicer (and several other business names as listed above). MJ is an Independent Consultant for several Direct Selling Companies including, but not limited to, Thirty-One Gifts, Younique, Party Lite, Traveling Vineyard, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Gourmet Popcorn, Style Dots, Rustic Shop, Western Stylin, Dove Chocolate Discoveries, Paparazzi, Top Success 4 U, and several others. MJ is the main administrator for a Facebook networking group for Direct Selling Consultants called Girlz Gaming CCOTM. Beware of joining this group! The premise of the group is for Direct Selling Consultants to purchase from one another to keep their business active during slow times, basically the honor system should be used at all times for any group of this type as no one is under any legal contract to purchase from one another. Upon deciding to leave the group, at a time I was under no commitment to another member, MJ became enraged and began sending me emails, having emails sent to my friends, sending Facebook messages, calling my personal cell phone, and harassing me. Her behavior is completely unacceptable, a Facebook group is an at-will entity, and she has decided that she has some sort of legal hold over her members. She has gone as far as to threaten reporting me to Facebook, online entities, and my own Direct Selling Company simply for choosing to leave the group. I am well aware that several other members of her group wish to leave, but are afraid to do so due to her irratic behavior. In addition to her Facebook harassment, she is in violation of the Independent Consultant contract for several of the companies she sells for as the majority of them state that although you may work as a Consultant for more than one company, you may not advertise them together on the same site. She violates this part of the contract by purchasing and reselling items from several different companies on her Facebook Page and online business known as Western Stylin. She is also in violation of this contract clause by listing all of her website selling links in her email signature. I personally will lose no sleep over her, I know how to block a phone number, and I realize I am under no contract or obligation to continue being a member of a community that I no longer have an interest in, but I do want others to be on guard before dealing with her, whether it be online, networking, consulting, purchasing, or selling.
