A year ago we noticed a 10 dollar in our checking account that we did not make. The bank told us the charge was through our check information and not our bank card (the person had our routing number). We knew the charge was not legit because it was a new account, and we have NEVER given that information to anyone. So I googled the "name of the company" that took the money. I found pages and pages of blogs from people claiming the small charges being taken out of their account here and there which most people would not notice. However, the company had hundreds and hundreds of names that they went by. Each company claimed they were an adult website. So I went back to the bank with the list of "company names" and told them to block all charges from all of these companies. Well, I have always kept an eye on our account since then, and last week I also found a 40 dollar charge from MBXL Entertainment. My online banking service even showed me a copy of the check typed and said "authorized signature not required". I called my bank and again they said that the "company" had my checking information b/c it was a purchase that we apparently authorized with our checking/routing information. This was not true, b/c we now have 2 accounts and that particular account is our spending money only. We do not write checks out of that account for anything. Our bill account is separate. So, we disputed it and the money was being put back in. Well I called the phone number on the fake check that we apparently authorized, and a lady answered the phone! She seemed very legit, and knew just what to say. She asked for the reference number, and I gave that to her. She tried to verfiy the last 4 digits of my checking number and name and I told her I was not giving her that information. She said she couldn't help me. I asked her who MBXL Entertainment was and she said it was an adult website that we authorized a purchase for (we don't have a home computer or internet by the way). She said my bank disputed it, and the money was being put back in and that she was very sorry. (What company is going to give you your money back if they CLAIM you purchased something from them?!). So, I got really angry, hung up on the lady, and I called the FBI. She said she would file a complaint but in order for the FBI to open an investigation they would have to have a ton of complaints on THE SAME COMPANY. So in otherwords....not a lot of people notice 10 dollars here and there, and if they DO notice they don't care enough about 10 bucks to dispute it b/c it is just 10 dollars. If they DO dispute it at the bank, the "company" puts the money back to make everyone happy. It usually ends there. And if you do get somebody like me who actually takes the time to research it and contact the police or the FBI, they have to have a TON of complaints on the same company in order to do anything about it. What are the chances of THAT happenening?! These people know they will never get caught!

So I started to think a bit. The ONLY time my husband has ever given his checking information was when he was playing the online internet war game called Travian (he would purchased gold, weat, etc. for his troups) We had a ton of viruses on our computer at that time which is why we got rid of it. He also explained to me that there were a ton of hackers that played Travian (who admitted they were hackers) and they would hack into players accounts and turn their troups against them. Which brings me to my next thought. It all makes sense! The majority of people that play Travian are men, right? The majority of people that play Travian are ADDICTED to it (I mean all hours of the night). Which would make total sense! They know you are more than likely a man that is playing this game all hours of the night, so they hack into your account and get your personal info. Then they take money out of your account and it just looks like you have been up late on porn sites.

So my question for you is, do you play any online games?
