Complaint Review: The Kindle Publishing Company

The Kindle Publishing Company This company passes itself off as Kindle Direct Publishing, a legitimate publishing entity. However, Kindle Publishing operates out of a PO box in California and its staff does its best to make clients and the public believe they ARE Kindle Direct Publishing. They use similar logo colors and on several occasions, I had my Failed to deliver products outlined in the contract I signed with them. Used classic "run around" techniques to defer their obligations as outlined in the contract. Arcadia California

I contacted this company when my manuscript was finished and ready to be published. I thought I was contacting KDP, which was my error. I signed a contract on Sept. 27, 2023 to do the following:

1. Line by line editing 2. Proofreading and Formatting 3. EBook, Paperback and Hardcover formats 4. 100% Ownership 5. Publishing on 3 Major platforms 6. ISBN and barcode 7. Cover Art (front and back) 8. Print on Demand 9. Unlimited revisions in every phase 10. Dedicated team of experts 11. Amazon account setup and Author account creation 12. 10 Author Copies

As of today, March 27, 2024, the work still hasn't been completed. There is a constant change of "representatives" to handle the account, and there is little or no transfer of information from one to the other. All of the reps speak very broken English and it is difficult to understand them. They would repeatedly ask me to send them something and then say they didn't get it, so I had to send it again.....and again. They told me at one point to use their portal, but then I kept getting the message that I had been locked out or they themselves wouldn't use it.

Also, EVERY new rep would try to upsell me very expensive services, such as book signings ($9,000!) or other outrageously priced services I could do myself. They tried to get me to put the book signing on a credit card before they had finished the contracted services, which they still haven't done.

My book still isn't available in hardback and it isn't on Barnes & Noble yet, which was promised. I no longer answer the phone when they call, because I know it will be more of the same run-around. This company is a total fraud and rip-off.
