In October 2020, Kimberly-Clark Corp issued a warning to consumers in North America that some flushable wipes were contaminated with potentially dangerous bacteria. It offered refunds for any wipes whose packaging serial numbers showed them to be part of the contaminated batch. After filling out a claim and then waiting three months, I received, not a check, but a Visa prepaid card that turns out not to work in local retailers' credit card machines.

They seem to be worthless to me, and the consumer response phone number sent along with the card offers access only to voice-mail robots, not to any line or any human who can actually deal with this problem.
