Thinking of entering the grafic design . Don't make the mistake I did, stay away from Katherine Gibbs(piscataway).

I attended katherine gibbs to obtain a degree in visual communications . After talking with the counsler, I was brain washed to think that spending over $16,000+ on a one year certificate in visual communications would earn me top dollar and choice of work in the industry.

Do not fall for this for the following reasons:
You can get a better and thorough education from one of the community colleges for a fraction of the price.
The counslers and teachers were and at times disorganized and unable to answer questions asked by students.
Programs used are out of date or not taught properly

Once a teacher left in the fourth week in a eleven week semester and was not replaced till the eight week.
Our web design class was taught by a teacher who knew nothing about the program she was teaching (adobe golive)
Was told would be using computers from the first day did not touch one till the third semester, after two semesters of arts and crafts.

Be smart, go to a community college for these type of jobs. They too offer convenient day and evening programs to fit your schedule. Or just throw your sixteen grand in a river it will get you farther than gibbs will.

I was an Admissions Rep with Katherine Gibbs Montclair and New York City. As students all you are to the school is just a number. As a rep you needed to enroll a certain number per week, month per term. Those who met their number were fine and were required to enroll even more students. Those who did not, lives were misable and then fired.

If you like ask some questions and I will respond below....
