On 8/18/2016 I went to Just Brakes for an oil change. I recieved a coupon in the mail and did  some research regarding reviews for the place. Apparently, I didn't  go far enough in the research.

1st thing was Marcus, the mgr, greeted me and input my information into the computer. He then asked me  to sign the digital device on the counter without showing me what he had inputed. That was my first mistake. Do not sign anything until you see it writing. My oil change  evolved into  an A/C inspection and a re-charge on the freon. He inspected my brakes and said front pads were ok but should be replaced shortly. The back brakes were fine  but  needed cleaning. I verbally agreed to the  changing of the pads and the re-charge but I said I wanted to see the bill first in writing.Marcus  answered the phone  and  never provided me a written estimate but informed the mechanic Wiiliam M. and  his assistant Alberto R. to proceed on the vehicle out of  ear shot to me. I went up to the counter after a few minutes and requested the estimate  .Marcus  advised that he went with my verbal Ok and instructed his  people to do the repairs. I told him it was "conditional" until I had it  in writing. He apologized and advised he  would  provide it  in writing shortly. About 20 minutes later, the mechanic drove  my vehicle up to the front door. I went to the counter and was told it  was done and  my bill was $459.00!! I said  what for  you advertised  specific prices in the mailer I had and  none of the "ad prices" were reflected in the bill. He answered the  ringing phone and then excused himself  to go to the shop. He  came back and advised that  he had "bad news". My water  pump was leaking. He told the  mechanic  to put it on the  lift to make certain. he advised  it was  going  to cost an additional $262.00 to  replace the water pump because it was leaking so badly that I couldn't  drive the vehicle  off the lot without a breakdown. Here I am in the office, I requested to see the leaking  water pump  and  was  told insurance regulations wouldn't  allow  me  into the shop. I had  no choice but to relent and pay for the repair. I was told it would take 2 hours and that I should come back tomorow for it. I left and 45 minutes later recieved a call from Alberto advising that the repair was done and I could pick up my vehicle. When I got  there 10 minutes later Marcus  greeted me and showed me a"water pump". He claimed it was off my van but I knew it wasn't. It was too small. I had  replaced my  own water pump  3 months earlier myself. He had me over a barrel. I needed my van.  Don't  trust these guys they are rip off artists.
