What I loved most about my 97 Toyota Camry was the "smooth" comfortable ride. That ended the day I visited "Jay's Mobil Auto Service" located in Culver City California. Until that day, the only major mechanical problem I had was having to get Brake Pads. I "drove in" for brake pads, and "drove out" with not only a recommendation for axle repair, but suddenly damaged axle's as well.

On Febuary 2, 2000 (regretfully) I went to Jay's Mobil Auto Service to replace brake pads. I figured it would take about 45 minutes to an hour so I walked over to the Mall to waste time.
When I got back I assumed my car would be finished but it wasn't. The mechanic called me over to point out additional needed repairs. He pointed to something (mumbling the
name) What he was pointing to simply looked like something that had been taken apart. He asked if the car had been making noises, I told him "No" and thought the question was peculiar since, not only had I not heard noises, I had no problems with this car thus far (other than the needed brake pads).
I asked the mechanic to repeat what it was that I needed done, because I would have to come back another day, and he simply said that he would remember the next time I came back.
(The manager later wrote on my receipt that it was the axle's that needed repair).

Anyway, after my car was finished, I backed out to drive away and suddenly hear this strange noise (I'm assuming this is the same noise the mechanic predicted that I would hear...from my newly damaged axle's).
The mechanic test drove the car and didn't hear a noise.
After driving away, I knew suddenly that there was something very wrong and different about how my car was now driving.

It's been a few days since the incident at Jay's Mobil, and I'm still waiting for the paperwork to make a complaint to the Dept of Consumer Affairs, but my car is getting worse and feels very dangerous to drive. What is distressing to me is that someone could possibly put my life or my families life in danger for an "extra" buck (actually several hundred bucks).
