We owed the IRS over $14,000. We went to JK Harris in good faith because we were being threatened by the IRS. We lost our jobs and there was no way we could meet our payment plan. JK Harris assured us they could help. I went to the initial interview in Saratoga, NY. First order of business was that their fee was paid, $2250! OK it beats $14,000. This fee was to request a master file, prepare federal offer in compromise, negotiate federal offer and compromise. This was in September of 2002. First offer was refused. So, after being jerked around and having our case transferred to 5 or 6 different people, each one I had to explain our case to and fax all our documentation to. Every 3 mo. I had to fax them my financial information. In the mean time they didn't work on our case because they didn't get a payment, reported us to a collection agency and we missed our deadline to appeal the first denial, oh by the way, they don't answer their phones and don't return messages. So, we had to start the whole process all over again. Stress, threats of levy, taking our home, cars and everything we owned. To make a long story short, by June of 2004 the second offer still hadn't been accepted and we ended up having to sell our home to get the IRS off our backs.

As far as I'm concerned JK Harris isn't worth the price of a phone call. I actually think they bank on you getting sick of it all and saying the hell with it. What do they care, they got their money.
