I should be current in my payments, but HomeEq is holding my checks in a black hole somewhere and proceeding with an administrative foreclosure, which I am fighting. For other victims, I suggest contacting MoveOn.org and voting for my posting. I urge legislation to stop this predatory practice; it is titled: Predatory Lenders: a Gift from the GOP to You. Make this a goal for MoveOn.org with your vote! The FTC has been trying to get legislators' attention in this matter but have had little luck with the current legislative mix in Congress.

To protect your interests now, contact your local Housing Assistance organization or check out any government-based foreclosure relief agency (be sure to check their credentials here before proceeding). In most states, anyone who purchases your loan cannot evict you if the foreclosure is improper, and failure to credit payments to your account qualifies in most states as improper. Until Predatory Lenders like HomEq are forced to operate under legislated rules and regulations, this practice will continue. These companies need to be regulated.
