so i attempted to book a rental for my honeymoon in january i called hertz explaining i would like to see a price in the upper $200 range considering thats what the competetors are pricing the car class i wanted in i was told id have to use my gold points for this which i had no issue with 

the rep stated my final price would be $203 after all fees and taxes i confirmed the final price with him a few times and hung up thanking him

when i recieved my email quote it stated my price was now $600 for my rental i immediatly called hertz and they stated i need 1000 more points to get that rate i advised them this is not what was told to me and they should stand by their word

hertz said they would review the recording and get back to me

this is the email i recieved:

    After reviewing your claim of an issue with your upcoming reservation
it has been determined the only way we can honor the lower rate is for you
to purchase the remaining points needed as you were advised by the original
agent you spoke with.

a blatant lie as this was never originally told to me
