Complaint Review: Harbor Freight

     I received a flyer in the mail from Harbor Freight. In that flyer was a vent free, dual fuel space heater for $339.99. I could not find it online, called customer service, and was told to go to a store. I went to two stores in CT; One in Berlin, the other in Brookfield.
     After speaking to store staff, I was told that they never had these units, nor would they ever have them. In the meantime, I turned down the same unit at another location since it was $10.00 more, but they have since sold out. I found out from another sales associate that this company does this a lot; they do it as a "bait and switch" (never heard the term before).
     I called the corporate number and was given a rude response and was told they were discontinued and there was nothing they could do. I asked them if they plan to publish a retraction. They stated "no". This place, in my opinion, is just trying to get customers into the store under false pretenses.
     I want to warn everyone who plans on shopping here to watch out. These people in corporate do not care about true customer service. I have spent hundreds over the years with this place, and will never spend a dime there again.
