Good Guys promise "No finance charges for one year", but really mean "deferred finance charges". They send nothing but the bills, don't tell you your payments are going toward the principle, not the interest, then after a year, sock you with cumulative finance charges. Because they print the amount due on the send-in slip, there is no incentive to pay off early nor even to read the bill, which after nine months warns you that you must pay it off in full to avoid the finance charges.

When you finally see a bill with the finance charges, it's too late. You owe them all, at 23% APR! On a big screen HDTV (about $3500) the charges are $840. I really don't want to pay that!
The promotion is financed through HRS (Household _ _).
