I purchased a 2005 Saturn ion. About 2 years and 50k after the purchase the key became increasingly difficult to get out of the ignition or turn to start the car. The key, became unrecognizable to the computer and would do crazy things like; start the antitheft for HOURS, turn on and off the electricity, SHUT OFF the car while in DRIVE.

I have been calling GM since 2007-8. They insisted nothing was wrong with the car. After 2 computer resets, several dead batteries and a slew of fuses, Saturn recalled a part in the GEAR SHIFT in 2009ish. Part replaced same issue.

Car turned off while in drive 3/4/14. Key stuck in ignition, yet sounds and lights were blinking and flashing like someone was trying to trun on the car... Called GM. Wouldnt you know it they have a IGNITION SWITCH RECALL.

Fought with GM for 2 days to get it towed. Towed on 3/14/14. They told me to wait until on or around APRIL 7, 2014 FOR THE PART TO COME IN.

Best Part. They refuse to give me a loaner vehicle or replace the fuses that need replaced due to the ignition switch malfunction. Complained to GM. They told me to wait 48 hours because the DEALERSHIP had no LOANER CARS. The Dealership is Palmetto Chevy in Conway, SC.
