I purchased General Electric "stainless steel" dish washer and oven as part of a $35000 kiitchen renovation less than one year ago.  The finish on these appliances wears down, discolors, rusts and disnitegrates from fingers, hands, water.  GE customer services says they aren't responsible since its a "cosmetic problem" and does nothing to make it right.  I'm going to be paying off these appliances for a very, very long time and my brand new kitchen is starting to look run down.  Cosmetic may not matter to General Electric, but its going to matter a lot to real estate agents and potential buyers when I try to sell my home.  This is a really poor investment, thanks to GE appliances.  I'm screwed.  If I can post photos, I will.  Keep in mind that I've had these appliances less than a year.  You may need to zoom in but the damage from water droplets and fingerprints is visin=ble in the photos.  I contacted GE customer service today at 800-432-2737 at 1:18 pm EST and was told that GE is not responsible for these defects becaue they are cosmetic.  GE will sell you a very poor quality product like this and state that it doesn't matter because the problem is cosmetic and isn;t important.  Ask a real estate agent how unimportant cosmetic is.  Or my ortgage lender.
