General Aluminum Mi Windows and DoorPark Ohio Holdings Corporation This company has a non-transferable warranty on their products. Unless you are the original homeowner then you are out-of-luck when the seals on your windows go bad. Carrollton Texas

I purchased a home last year. One of the seals in a fixed pane window has gone bad. There is haze between the panes. It took me forever to identify who manufactured these windows. It is now obvious to me why they do not prominenty display their name/brand.

Upon contacting the manfacturer they told me the warranty is non-transferable. This is insane.

The house was build in 2007. It is now 2014. Are you telling me these windows are only good for 7 years??

I would never buy these windows. I will specifically be on the look-out for any future houses that I purchase making sure they do not have these windows or any from the crappy conglomerate that now owns them.

Transfer of Warranty

They do not offer a transfer even with a fee. It is a ripoff to me in that when a person buys a house that is not that old you do not expect to have to replace things like windows right away. You telling me that just because I am not the original purchaser of the windows they should not stand by their product? How does that make any sense?? Either you build a quality product offer a reasonable warranty and honor it. There is a large number of homeowners that stay in their house less than 5 years. Obviously, the manufacturer knows this. It is a tad disingenuous to offer a 10 year warranty. Clearly that is a selling point.
