Gateway Classic Cars, Ruskin Florida.  I bought a 2007 Shelby, Cobra. I asked the condition of the car from the salesman (Eric Robbins).  He said it was in fine condition. I understand the car is 15 years old (with only 16,000 miles). I purchased the car on the internet and had it delivered to my home.

I expected "normal" wear and tear.  The car arrived with DEEP key scratches on both sides, doors and quarter panels.  Again, I understand the age of the car; but this is not normal. He took pictures of the car from several feet away under bright lights that do not show the scratches.  When the car was still up on the car carrier, the driver pointed it out to me. The car was on the carrier with a Mercedes and a Porsche that had zero scratches or damage: the car was not damaaged in transit.  It was only on the carrier for 3 hrs from Tampa to Ft. Myers.

I immediately called my salesman. Of course the car was paid for several days before I received it.  The salesman did not return my calls.  I called a supervisor who said he'd take care of it. Eventually, I spoke with a lady in Illinois (Caitlin) who said she could see some scratches on her photos from the Florida dealership.  She said they would NOT do anything to compensate me for the damaged car. I have close up pictures, which I sent to her.

I paid a lot of money for this car.  There are a couple of door dings, it's normal.  Deep, deep key scratches are NOT normal. These people are truly dishonest. I wish I had read reviews about them before doing business with them.

You send off your money to somebody you don't know to buy some USED CAR which you don't even have the slightest amount of COMMON SENSE to check out in advance and now you want sympathy? WHAT A JOKE!
