Complaint Review: Freedom Resources

On 10/11/02 Freedom Resources cashed an electronic check (the sum of $221.00) which I wrote them over the phone with promises that in return I would receive a Visa credit card with a limit of $2,500 in twenty one days.

Someone who said her name is Liz Davis contacted me at home and said I applied for their credit card via the internet. Although I had no recollection of the application process the thought of relinquishing $221 (which I couldn't afford)in return for $2,500 seemed a small sacrifice. I was drowning in debt. I was desperate!!!!

Needless to say, to this day I have not received ANY correspondence from them. Their phone number is a long distance call. I have called them EVERYDAY since the 21 days expired. Sometimes I am on hold for up to 45 minutes. Then I hang up out of frustration. I was only able to reach them three times since I've been calling.

They were extremely rude the first time. Their attitude was "you have the audacity to call us before you got anything in the mail". The young lady was sooooo rude she hung up on me after stressing that the waiting period was 21 BUSINESS days.

My second phone call was made well after 21 BUSINESS days. This lady, Gloria, was extremely nice and commented on how nice I was. "Some people call here yelling at us. I just hang up on them". She seemed sincere and concerned that all this time had elapsed and I still hadn't received any correspondence by mail yet. So I didn't doubt her when I she said she was putting a rush on my package to go out the following Monday. That was two weeks ago. Is the mail delivery from state to state that bad??!!!

My most recent call to the "company" was today. They said the package hasn't gone out yet but it will in another week.
