Fleet Bank Credit Cards false advertising for credit card rates, rude service unwilling to fix, misapplied billing. very deceptive and rude. Horsham Pennsylvania

My husband recieved a promo in the mail for a fleet card as preapproved for 0% balance transfers and purchases at 10%. He applied online and got instantly approved. We got our first bill only to find out that they transferred our balance at over 11% and the new purchases we put on it they have applied as cash advances at the cash advance rate over 23%.

We have never used the card for cash and would not have transferred our balances if we would have known those rates would be worse than our other card. We called customer service who was very very very rude. They ended up transferring us 3 times to a supervisor, still to be unresolved and very rude.

They were unwilling to fix any of it and told us to read our terms and conditions. They lied to us and were unwilling to hold up the original terms we had agreed to. after the call we looked on the internet only to find this is common practice to many customers (you can read what we found at http://www.consumeraffairs.com/credit_cards/fleet.html).

Very deceptive practices and they are breaking federal regulations like the Truth in Lending Act. We're very surprised this company still has it's bank charter. Would never ever ever do business with them again and am trying to find a solution to get rid of them as soon as possible. Do not use Fleet Bank Credit Cards!
