In 2010 I was granted a forbearance on my mortgage and began the modification process with Flagstar bank.  The forbearance was for 6 month with the plan for a modification to be completed by January of 2010.  I was told to work with a company called Sterling Home Retention  and complied with all of their requirements.  In January I was contacted by Flagstar and told not to do any more business with Sterling Home Retention and I would now have to start the modification process over with Flagstar's  loss mitigation department.  When I asked about the end of the forbearance term a Flagstar representative told me to continue paying the forbearance amount (1/2 of monthly mortgage) until modification paperwork was completed.

In January of 2012 I was given a "trial period" to pay the full mortgage amount for 3 months.  I made the payments and sent them all the paperwork they asked of me.  When I received modification paperwork the wrong address was listed so I told them .....

I have explained over and over to my "single point of contact" the situation and sent documents from my county showing my parcel numbers with my name and address listed as owner.  Flagstar bank says this in not enough proof that this is my property.

I have been caught in an endless loop of new "single point of contacts" with no solution, no modification, or any access to the department who is deciding my fate.  I have continued to pay the modification amount ($50 less than the original mortgage) on a balance that is now more than I originally borrowed. I was told by my contact that all of my payments are going to a suspended account and that I am still being charged late fees.

My credit is ruined, the amount I owe is increasing as late fees are added each month. I received a letter from  Flagstar stating that I have not cooperated with the bank and a modification is no longer available. My single point of contact tells me to ignore the letter. The customer service department from Flagstar calls me twice a week to discuss my delinquency and I have to go through the whole story, they transfer me to loss mitigation where I am told that "they" are still working on my case.

I have no idea what to do, except keep paying the payments and hope someday this will be resolved.
