Federal government, salli mae, student loans, adult education, Liars to cover thier mistakes
SalliMae goes beyond every possible lie to cover their mistakes. A couple of years ago I found out that SalliMae had defaulted my loans because THEY made a mistake. I was in deferrement, since I have a daughter who is permanately disabled. Though because another borrower happened to have the same name as me that person got a deferrement and I got defaulted.
I have sent several letters to SalliMae, several faxes, and made more than enough phone calls, and have yet seen them fix anything. I had all the proof to prove that the deferrment papers were faxed to them. The copy from the faxing company listing the phone numbers faxed to and the dates, etc. I even have a paper they sent me saying I was in deferrement for another year. I have emails they wrote me back from mails I sent them on their website which they also said yes there was a mistake and I was in deferrment.
Although, when I went to apply for transcripts and a couple more classes I was told I was in default. I contacted them went through all the things they said THEY needed to investigate it. At that time two loans were not yet in default and they told me that they would not default on them until the investigation was over. Two days later they defaulted them. They have lied continuously. Saying that people working there dont work there even though faxes came from these people with their employee numbers listed on them.
The story goes on and on. I contacted an ombudsman through the department of education who also contacted them and got nowhere. It might have gone on this long and maybe it will for years to come but before the end these liars will be brought into the open.
